NAIDOC Week Celebrations - Cherbourg

NAIDOC week runs from July 7-14, and Cherbourg will be holding its annual NAIDOC Week celebrations today to mark it. NAIDOC Week celebrates Indigenous arts and culture and the uniquely important role they play in Australia's identity, and today's celebrations have been jointly organised by The Ration Shed Museum, Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council and Cherbourg Hospital. They'll be be held at The Ration Shed and nearby Memorial Park in Barambah Avenue, Cherbourg from 10:00am to around 2:00pm today. This year's celebrations will feature the presentation of Cherbourg's annual NAIDOC Awards (at 10:00am), an Open Day at The Ration Shed Museum, lots of information stalls, arts and crafts, plenty of activities for children, Indigenous dancing and a free BBQ lunch. NAIDOC Week is always a great day out in Cherbourg, and everyone is welcome!

Proston Men's Shed

The Proston Men's Shed will be meeting at the old railway station building at Railway Park in Rodney Street, Proston for its regular Tuesday meeting today, kicking off with a cuppa at 9:00am. Queensland Winter Craft Festival - Kingaroy

The second (and final) month of the Queensland Winter Craft Festival will be running throughout July at the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery in Haly Street, Kingaroy (opposite the peanut silos) from 10:00am to 4:00pm today. The Gallery is hosting exhibitions from the Tangled Threads Textile Art Group, the South Burnett Gem and Fossicking Club and silk artist Cecile Arndt this month, and it will also be running a number of art workshops covering everything from rug making and silk painting to pottery and creating bags from rags. Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
