South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their latest monthly exhibition for 2022 with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm tonight. This month the gallery will be displaying "Travelling With Sue" by North Burnett artist Sue Lederhose in the front gallery; "Tole'd In Paper And Mixed Media" paper tole craftworks by Rosemarie Matthews-Frederick in the main gallery; and "The Spice Of Life" by Sue Warry in thed rear gallery. Meanwhile, children from Wheatlands State School will be exhibiting in Kidz Korner. As usual, tonight's opening will also feature great hot and cold finger foods and punch, along with wine tastings from Nuova Scuola, live entertainment and lots of fun socialising. Queensland Stories - Blackbutt
Brisbane music ensemble Topology will be performing their new production Queensland Stories at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall in Bowman Road, Blackbutt at 7:00pm tonight. This touring show has already been performed in Goondiwindi, the Southern Downs and North Burnett, but tonight will mark its first appearance in the South Burnett. The show features music, videos and stories of life in regional Queensland and the ups and downs of bushfires, floods and droughts. Tickets are $15 per head - under 12sd are free - and they can be booked online. Some tickets will also be available at the door tonight if not sold out beforehand.
Kingaroy RSL Bingo
Bingo games will be running at Kingaroy RSL from 9:30am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be multiple jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help local good causes. Everyone is welcome. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
Line Dancing - Yarraman

Friday Social Golf - Proston
The Proston Golf Club on Brigooda Road, Proston will be holding a Friday afternoon social golf game today. Names need to be in by 2:00pm for a 2:30pm tee-off, and everyone is welcome. Social Cards - Nanango

The Kingaroy Croquet Club will be playing croquet games at the rear of the Kingaroy Cricket Club in Youngman Street, Kingaroy (just next to Beangrowers) from 9:00am to around 11:30am this morning. SBRC Budget Committee Meeting
The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding a Budget Committee meeting at the Warren Truss Chambers inside its Glendon Street offices in Kingaroy from 9:00am this morning to help frame its upcoming 2022-23 Budget. Interested people can view the meeting via a livestream on the Council's website.
2022 Kingaroy Eisteddfod
The annual Kingaroy Eisteddfod will be running at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 8:30pm until about 5:00pm this afternoon. Today is the sixth day of of dance entries, and the public is very welcome to come along and watch. Entry fees per session are $5 for adults, $3 for pensioners and children under 5 are free. The Eisteddfod will conclude on Sunday, May 8th.
Malcolm Johnston At The Carrollee - Kingaroy
Famous Australian jockey Malcolm Johnstone will be appearing at the Carrollee Hotel in King Street, Kingaroy at 6:30pm this evening as part of the hotel's pre-Burrandowan celebrations. Everyone is welcome to come meet the man who rode 12 Melbourne Cup winners and hear his stories.
DJ Damo - Kingaroy

Cuppa And Chat Group
Kingaroy's Cuppa and Chat Group will be holding its weekly meeting at The Biscuit Tin behind St Mary's Church at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to around 11:00am today. Friday Night Soccer - Kingaroy
Kingaroy Wests will play Kingaroy Easts Women at Tom Alford Oval at the end of Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy at 6:15pm tonight in the third round of this year's senior football competition, followed by Kingaroy Easts taking on Kingaroy Wests in the men’s game at 7:45pm. A canteen will be operating in the grounds and spectators are very welcome. Note: A second men's game will be played at the same grounds tomorrow.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
