23rd Annual Nanango Stamp Fair
- The Nanango Stamp Club will be holding their 23rd annual Stamp Fair from 9:00am to 4:00pm today at the Nanango State High School Hall in Elk Street, Nanango. The event will feature a philatelic auction, a cent auction, a bargain table and a very busy canteen. There'll also be lots of great displays to delight any true philatelist's heart; three professional stamp dealers and 16 to 18 stamp clubs in attendance. Senior Deb Ball - Inverlaw
- A Senior Deb Ball will be held at Inverlaw Hall on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) from 8:00pm until late this evening. Music will be supplied by the Joytimes and there'll be the usual great supper and novelties, along with a Lucky Door draw. Nanango Country Markets
- The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and routinely attract 300 to 400 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? Family Fun Day - Kingaroy
- St Mary's Catholic College P&F will be holding a Family Fun Day at the College in Kent Street, Kingaroy, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm today. There'll be free family games, face-painting, a sausage sizzle, and drinks and snacks for sale. The popular Splatt game (water skirmish) will also be operating for just $2 a game. The whole family is invited to come along!
Wondai Parkrun
- The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed run at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the group is free to join. All you need to do is register (once) online at parkrun.com.au and bring the printed barcode to any parkrun event. More details? Send an email.
Soccer Sign-On And Info Morning - Murgon
- The Barambah Bears will be holding a 2017 soccer sign-on and info morning at the Rotunda in Lamb Street, Murgon at 8:30am this morning. The sign on is for both junior and senior players of either sex and any skill level, and new players are very welcome.
First Aid Training Course - Nanango
- Emergency First Aid Training will be holding a first aid training course at Taras Hall next to Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango from 8:00am today. The course offers full certification(or recertification) in first aid, and the course fee is $140.
Art Exhibition Opening - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery in Haly Street, Kingaroy (opposite the peanut silos) will be opening its latest monthly exhibition at 11:00am this morning. This month's show will feature three separate exhibitions: a solo exhibition by Maleny artist Katie Wells in Gallery 1; an exhibition of prints drawn from the South Burnett Art Collection, private collections, and three KAT members – Carmel Nott, Fran van Vegchel, and Rachel Weldon, who alll share a passion for prints in Gallery 2; and ‘Landscapes of Change’, a solo exhibition by artist Kaye Kerner who recently relocated from the Cunnamulla area to Murgon. Admission is free and everyone is welcome!
Four Person Ambrose - Blackbutt

RSL Cent Auction - Crows Nest
- A Giant Cent Auction will be held in the RSL & Community Centre in William Street, Crows Nest from 9:00am to 2:00pm today. The cent auction is a fundraiser to complete a Memorial Walk in Crows Nest. Doors will open at 9:00am and tickets will start being drawn at 10:30am. Entry is $5 for adults and $2 for children, and this includes a sheet of tickets, morning tea and a Lucky Door ticket. - The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding their Saturday meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
