Heritage Nanango New Year's Eve Mardi Gras
The third annual Heritage Nanango New Year's Eve Mardi Gras will be held at Pioneer Park in Drayton Street, Nanango from 5:00pm until around 10:00pm tonight. This free entry, family-friendly event will feature showground rides and amusements for children, live entertainment from popular South Burnett trio Pobblebonk, food and drinks at everyday prices and a giant fireworks display at 9:00pm so mums and dads can put their children to bed early, and revellers who want to continue on to midnight can do so at the nearby Nanango RSL, the town's three hotels or at private parties. There'll also be free face painting for children, and to ensure the Mardi Gras really is family friendly a bar will not be operating and no BYO is allowed. Everyone is welcome! More details? Phone Sue on 0432-077-067.
New Year's Eve With Muddy Flats - Maidenwell
Popular South Burnett band Muddy Flats will be ringing in the New Year at the Maidenwell Hotel from 6:00pm to late this evening, and the hotel will also be offering one of its popular Pig On A Spit dinners to go with the festivities. New Year's Eve Family Rodeo - Goomeri
The Goomeri and District Show Society will be holding their popular annual New Year's Eve Family Rodeo at the Goomeri Showgrounds today and tonight to help ring in the New Year. Gates will open and junior rodeo action will commence at 8:00am; pre-performance events will begin at 1:00pm; and the main rodeo will kick off around 5:00pm and continue into the evening. The event is a full bull & bronc NRA-affiliated Rodeo so you can be certain of seeing some really top class rodeo action. Events on offer include an Open Bull Ride, Saddle and Bareback Broncs, Time Event Stock and the must-have Poddy Ride for all the junior cowboys and cowgirls. And after the rodeo concludes there'll be toe-tapping live entertainment until late. A fully licensed bar and BBQ will be operating all day and night, and there's also free unpowered camping sites available on the grounds if you want to stay over after the party winds down around 1:00am. Entry fees are $20 for adults, $15 for young people aged 12 to 17 (under-12s are free) or $50 for a family of four. Everyone is welcome! More details? Email the Goomeri Show Society.

From 8:00pm, the Doomsday Clock will count down to the coming apocalypse with a hilarious line up of 90s live music, DJ sets, comedy, pub games and prizes.
