Junior Blue Light Disco - Kingaroy
The sixth bi-monthly Junior Blue Light Disco for 2014 will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 6:00pm to 8:30pm this evening. Tonight's disco will have a Halloween theme and there'll be great prizes up for grabs to the best-dressed guests thanks to sponsors Bill Hull Car Centre and Kingaroy Joinery. Entry to the Junior Disco is restricted to young people aged 14 and below who can produce their student ID, and in addition to a fun night out tonight's disco will also have some great prizes to be won as well. Admission is $5 and - as usual - attendees are asked to remember that Blue Light Discos are drug, alcohol, chewing gum and tobacco free and no passouts or early exit will be given without parental permission and/or collection. Ration Shed Museum 10th Anniversary
Cherbourg's Ration Shed Museum in Barambah Avenue, Cherbourg will be celebrating its 10th birthday today with a community celebration from 11:00am onwards. Toay's birthday party will feature traditional entertainments from the Barambah Dancers; Museum tours; screenings of several films about the history of the Cherbourg community produced by the Museum; and a re-enactment of the way rations were once handed out from the Ration Shed, amongst many other things. A light lunch will also be served and everyone is welcome, but for catering purposes an RSVP would be greatly appreciated. Yarraman Playgroup

Movember Launch Party - Kingaroy
After the shock of Ocsober, Kingaroy RSL will be gearing up for an awesome Movember with the region's official Movember Launch Party from 8:00pm until late this evening. This gold coin donation event - all proceeds to the Movember Foundation! - will feature live acoustic entertainment from Liam Parsons and shave-offs so all entrants can make a clean start. Guests are also welcome to join the RSL's team, and registrations will be taken this evening.
Endeavour Foundation Bingo - Kingaroy
The Endeavour Foundation will be holding bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be four jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help people with an intellectual disability. Everyone is welcome. More details? Adam Hatch Memorial Golf Afternoon - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Chamber Of Commerce Industry and the Kingaroy Golf Club will be jointly hosting the Adam Hatch Memorial Golf Afternoon at the club on the Bunya Highway south-west of Kingaroy from 1:00pm today. Teams of 4 can register for $120 with a cart (or $100 without a cart) and there are 8 carts available. The match will be followed by drinks at the Commercial Hotel. The Kingaroy Men's Shed will be open from 9:00am to 12:00 noon and 2:00pm to 4:00pm today behind the Salvation Army's headquarters at 44 Alford Street in Kingaroy. The shed is open to all men who'd enjoy the companionship of other men while undertaking woodwork, metalwork or similar projects or who'd just enjoy a chat. More details? 2014 Murgon Music Muster
The second day of the four-day Murgon Music Muster will get underway at the PCYC complex at the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street, Murgon at 8:00am this morning with a Poet's Breakfast that will last until 9:30am. This will be followed from 10:00am until late by an Invited and Walk-Up Acts concert. The Muster is being organised by the Murgon Rotary Club and today - and over the next two days - it will feature a wide range of country and bush balladeering talents. Lunch and dinner will be available in the grounds too. Admission today is just $15 and overnight camping is available in the grounds for between $5 and $7.50. Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). Jazz Night - Kingaroy
A Jazz Night will be held at Keith Middleton Court inside Kingaroy State High School at 5:30pm this evening as a fundraiser for the Gathimba Edwards Foundation. Tickets are $5 per head and Cocktail Dress is optional, but there'll be prizes awarded for the Best Dressed and Most Imaginative Outfit. Everyone is welcome!
Friday Bingo - Blackbutt

The South Burnett Wine Appreciation Society will be holding their regular monthly meeting at the 1913 Council Chambers in Edward Street behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre from 6:30pm onwards this evening. Tonight's meeting is a "bring your favourite wine" night, where everyone is encouraged to bring along a personal favourite for tastings. The Wine Appreciation Society is open to anyone who'd like to learn more about wines and the $10 or so meeting fee covers all wine tastings and nibbles. More details? The South Burnett Darts Association will be holding their regular weekly Social Competition Night from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at their premises at Shed 1, 18 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. This is a 3-a-side event with a $5 playing fee, and a fully licensed bar will be operating along with raffles. New players are always very welcome, and the club caters for all skill levels from novice to expert. Dead Disney Halloween Party - Kingaroy
The Commercial Hotel at the corner of Haly and Glendon Streets in Kingaroy will be holding a Dead Disney Halloween Party from around 6:00pm tonight - the pub's biggest dress-up themed event of the year! Early in the evening (around dinner time) there'll be free face painting and fairy floss for the kids, and this will be followed by more adult-oriented partying in fancy dress late into night, with prizes for the best-dressed. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
