South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Aussie Concert With A Twist - Taabinga
The South Burnett Chorale will be presenting their end-of-winter "Aussie Concert With A Twist" at Taabinga Homestead at 7 Old Taabinga Road in Haly Creek at 2:30pm this afternoon. The concert will feature a great collection of classic Australian songs and admission (which includes an equally great afternoon tea) is $10 for adults - children 12 years and under can get in for free. Everyone is welcome!
Kumbia Antiques Roadshow
The second - and final - day of the second annual Kumbia Antiques Roadshow will be held at Kumbia Hall in Bell Street from 11:30am to around 4:00pm today. If you love antiques, a $25 ticket includes lunch, afternoon tea and written valuations on a maximum of two items (your pieces will be identified, discussed and valued by licenced valuer, Ray Dalton).The Antiques Roadshow is a very informative and fun day, but tickets need to be prepaid because places are strictly limited. South Burnett PCYC Wedding Expo - Murgon
The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding a giant Wedding Expo from 10:00am to 2:00pm today. This enormous event will feature over 34 exhibitors offering everything from wedding venues to catering, photography to gifts, and limousine services to hairdressing, jewellery and party hire. There'll be $3000 in prizes up for grabs too, light refreshments available on site and a Fashion Parade featuring vintage to modern dresses. Admission is a slim $2 and everyone is welcome. Mr Q Indoor Sunday Session - Nanango

Lyrics Restaurant at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains - just behind the Bunya Mountains General Store - will be holding their first-ever "Seafood Sunday" from 11:00am onwards today (lunch will be served from around noon). The fully-licensed restaurant will be offering a 100% fresh seafood a-la-carte menu, serving seafoods obtained from the coast yesterday. Sunday AFL - Kingaroy
After several weeks without a home game, the South Burnett Saints AFL team will be returning in triumph to Lyle Vidler Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy at 2:30pm this afternoon when they play University Cougars in the AFL's Darling Downs Division 2 Qualifying Final - the first ever AFL final held in Kingaroy, and the Saints' last home game of the season. The Saints are currently in top place on the 2014 competition ladder after a string of recent wins, so there'll be lot of interest in this match from AFL fans, since it will determine if our boys play in the Grand Final or not. Spectators are most welcome, a bar and refreshments will be available and admission is free.
Sunday Afternoon Poker - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy RSL in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy will be hosting Sunday afternoon poker games today. Registration starts at 2:00pm and the first cards are dealt at 2:30pm. There are $150 in prizes to be won and no fees to play. More details from the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.

Sunday Afternoon Darts - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Darts Association will be holding their regular Sunday afternoon Pot Luck Doubles darts competitions from 11:00am to 4:00pm at their premises at Shed 1, 18 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. A $10 playing fee applies, but that includes a great BBQ lunch. Tableland Markets
The Tableland Hall Committee will be holding their popular bi-annual Market Day at Tableland Hall from 6:30am to around 2:00pm today. These markets are only held twice a year and are becoming quite a crowd-pleaser with a lots of stalls offering everything from fresh produce through to coffee and tea, cakes and baked goods, plants and bric-a-brac. There'll also be a great steak sandwiches and hot chips on offer; a raffle; background music; and fun competitions for adults and children including a cooking compdetition (for both children and adults), where the entries will be auctioned after judging. Cr Kathy Duff will also be in attendance this morning to answer any questions you have about Council or hear about local issues you'd like her to look into. Open Mic Day - Nanango
The Nanango Darts Club at the corner of George and Elk Streets in Nanango will be holding an Open Mic Jam Session from 1:30pm to around 6:00pm today, hosted by Mr Q. Anyone is welcome to put their name up on the blackboard and - when their turn comes - to perform up to 20 minutes of originals or covers. South Burnett Little Athletics will be holding a Sign On Day at Taabinga State School in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy (near the industrial estate) this morning. Amazing Race - Kingaroy
