Blue Gum Farm TV - Kingaroy

With school holidays in full swing, the South Burnett Regional Council have invited Blue Gum Farm TV to perform at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy this morning, offering free 45-minute theatre workshops for children aged 5-12 from 9:00am to 9:45am, followed by a hilarious 30 minute concert featuring The Jillaroo Jive from 10:30am to 11:00am (designed for children aged 0 to 6, but suitable for youngsters up to 12). Both the workshops and concert are free, but seating is limited so a booking is essential. You can make one by phoning the Kingaroy Library on (07) 4189-9256.
Mr B's Rural School Holiday Tennis Clinic - Murgon
Mr B's Rural School Holiday Tennis Clinic will be running at the Murgon Tennis Courts in Gore Street, Murgon (just past the Murgon Services Club) from 8:00am onwards today. The tennis clinic offers games, activities and giveaways for school-aged junior players and it's completely free, but to help plan the numbers an RSVP would be greatly appreciated. Mobile Women's Health Clinic - Blackbutt
The Mobile Women's Health Clinic will be visiting the Blackbutt Medical Centre at 91 Coulson Street, Blackbutt today. The clinic offers a range of screening services as well as advice about women's health issues and it's free. You can book an appointment by phoning 0408-762-170. Free Movie Night - Murgon
The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will be hosting a free movie night from 5:30pm this evening as as school holiday treat (screening starts at 6:00pm). Tonight's film will be "The Croods: A New Age" - an animated G-rated family film - and guests should BYO comfy blanket and pillow. Free popcorn will be available and the PCYC's canteen will be operating if you want to buy snacks. Everyone is welcome!
Goomeri Social Art & Craft Club
The Goomeri Social Art & Craft Club will be holding its fortnightly meeting at Goomeri's Pumpkin Central offices in Moore Street from 9:00am to around 11:00am this morning. Guests are encouraged to bring along their latest creative project (of whatever type) for input from other members and morning tea will be supplied. The club meets every second Thursday and new members are always welcome.
Taras Hall Bingo - Nanango

Queensland State Gliding Competition - Kingaroy
CANCELLED: The Kingaroy Soaring Club will be hosting the 2021 Gliding Queensland State Competition from September 25 to October 1 at Kingaroy Airport. There are approximately 30 entries across 3 different classes of gliders competing in this year's event, with a high class field of entrants, some of whom have represented Australia at the World Gliding level. Kingaroy residents may notice additional glider activity over the airport and around the region during this period.
Murgon Men's Shed
The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
South Burnett Toastmasters Open House
South Burnett Toastmasters will be holding a free Open House with story telling at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy at 6:45pm (for a 7:00pm start) this evening. Toastmasters is a great way to learn how to speak in public and boost your self-confidence, and new members are always very welcome! Meetings are held on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursdays of the month. South Burnett Gem & Fossicking Club
The South Burnett Gem and Fossicking Club will be holding their regular Thursday meeting at their club's workshop in the shed at the rear of 44 Alford Street, Kingaroy from 8:30am to around 2:30pm today. Wesleyan Food Hampers - Nanango
Wesleyan Grace Community Food Hampers will be available at 36 Fitzroy Street, Nanango from 8:00am to 12:00 noon today. Food hampers are available for a modest price ($30 to $40) for people facing financial difficulties.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). And anyone who's finding it hard to make ends meet is very welcome to make use of it. More details? Phone James on 0438-071-658. Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
