Free Hearing Checks - Kingaroy
- The Australian Hearing Bus will be visiting the South Burnett today to offer residents free hearing checks. Roughly 60% of Australians aged 60 or older have some level of hearing loss, and bus staff can test for this and offer advice on the next step, if necessary. The bus will be parked at the corner of Markwell and Short Streets from 10:00am to 3:30pm. More information is available on the web.
Purser's Travel & Cruise Official Opening - Murgon
- Purser's Travel & Cruise will be holding their official opening at 40 Gore Street in Murgon between 9:00am and 12:00 noon this morning. There'll be a free sausage sizzle, CROW-FM will be broadcasting live from the site and there'll be lots of prizes and giveaways. Wind Farm Meeting - Bell
- AGL Energy will be holding a community consultation meeting in Bell this afternoon to update interested locals about its proposed wind farm at Cooper’s Gap. The meeting will be held at the Bell Bunya Community Hall at 71 Maxwell Street from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Residents are invited to ask questions and raise any concerns they have about the project.
Makers, Bakers & Growers Markets - Kingaroy
- Boots & Bulldust will be running the weekly Makers, Bakers and Growers Markets in Kingaroy today. The markets feature fresh food and crafts produced exclusively in the South Burnett and surrounding areas, along with great hand-crafted pizzas, and are now held at the rear of the Broadway Hotel in Glendon Street, Kingaroy (opposite Shoppingworld) between 9:00am and 5:30pm. Thursday Night League Training - Kingaroy
- Training for Kingaroy Red Ants U16, U18 and A Grade players will be held at T.J. O'Neill Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy this evening. U16s and U18s start training at 5:30pm, and A grade players at 6:00pm.
St Joseph's Bingo - Murgon
- St Joseph's Parish Hall in Angel Avenue, Murgon will be hosting bingo games from 7:30pm this evening. There'll be $1000 in prizes on offer as well as a canteen and lucky bingo tickets. Proceeds will go to aid St Joseph's school and community works.
Old Time Dancing Classes - Murgon
- Old Time Dancing will be held at the South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon at 1:00pm to 2:30pm this afternoon. The class caters to all levels from beginners to advanced, all in a fun and social atmosphere lead by a qualified dance instructor. South Burnett Computer Users Group - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Computer Users Group will be holding their fortnightly meeting from 10:00am today at the Orana Drop-In Centre at MacDiarmid Street in Kingaroy. The SBCUG is a not-for-profit group that aims to help seniors get the most from their computers. Beginners through to more advanced users are catered for with demonstrations and practical lessons. If you're interested in becoming confident using your computer, you're very welcome to come and learn in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The meeting starts at 10:00am with a short break at 11:30am, and then continues to 1:00pm. You can bring your own laptop to follow along on the lessons and get help with any problems you have, or learn on one of the groups laptops if you have a desktop model at home. More details? - The Kingaroy Community Kitchen will be holding its regular Thursday morning meeting at St Mary's Hall at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 9:30am to around 1:00pm today. Community Kitchen members learn how to cook a variety of budget conscious home-cooked meals, then sit down together for a communal lunch afterwards to enjoy the results for the cost of a gold coin donation. Community Funding Information Night - Kingaroy
- POSTPONED: The South Burnett Regional Council, Nanango's Heritage Community Branch, Stanwell Corporation and BIEDO will be holding a Community Funding Information Night at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 6:00pm to 9:00pm this evening. All four groups will be providing information about the various types of funding and grants that are available for local not-for-profit groups, as well as the eligibility requirements that apply. All South Burnett community groups are encouraged to attend, and refreshments will also be served - but to help plan the catering an email RSVP to Kim by the close of business on June 27 would be greatly appreciated. Note: This event was postponed on June 23; at present, no new date has been set.

Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
- Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
