South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Wondai Spring Garden Expo
The second day of the weekend long Wondai Spring Garden Expo will be held at the Wondai Sports Grounds off the Bunya Highway just north of Wondai's CBD from 8:00am this morning through until 1:00pm this afternoon. The Expo is one of the largest gardening show of its type in south-east Queensland and always draws hundreds of keen gardeners every September. As well as a huge range of plant and garden-related product displays, the Expo will also feature several well-informed guest speakers talking on a variety of gardening topics throughout the day. Guests can also get to enjoy a Flower Show and live music. There'll be plenty of food and drink outlets dotted around the grounds, too. Admission is $5 per day (young people under 15 can get in for free) and you can get more details and/or book a stand of your own on the Garden Expo's website or by phoning Helen on (07) 4168-9297.
Hivesville Markets
The Hivesville Country Markets will be held at the Hivesville Sports Grounds from 6:00am to about noon today. These family-friendly monthly markets are held on the 4th Sunday of every month and feature a variety of stalls including fresh local farm produce, plants, crafts and lots of food. Timbertowns Woodworkers - Blackbutt
The Timbertowns Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Bunya Mountains Markets
The monthly Bunya Mountains Markets will be running at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains today. The markets feature up to 30 stands selling quality, locally-produced fresh produce, arts and crafts and they'll be operating from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Local cafes like Poppies On The Hill and The Bunya Mountains Cafe will be offering special Market Day menus and morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas, and walking trail maps will be available from both cafes, the Bunya Mountains General Store and market stalls if you'd like to take a walk through the adjoining National Park. Sunday Poker - Kingaroy

Beneath Hill 60 - Nanango
The Nanango Theatre Company's film group will be screening "Beneath Hill 60" at their playhouse at the corner of George and Elk Streets, Nanango at 3:00pm this afternoon. The film tells the amazing true story of Australian WWI soldiers who dug and defended a leaking labyrinth of tunnels packed with enough high explosives to change the course of the war, and it received a five star rating from Rotten Tomatoes. Kilkivan Railway Markets
The monthly Kilkivan Railway Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. The markets run on the last Sunday of every month and always feature an array of locally produced fruit, vegetables and merchandise. New stallholders are always welcome, too! More details? The South Burnett Orchid Society will be holding their regular monthly meeting at CTC's rooms at the South Burnett Youth Park in Somerset Street, Kingaroy from 2:00pm to around 3:30pm this afternoon. Mr Q And A BBQ - Kumbia
The Kumbia Hotel in Bell Street, Kumbia will be hosting a Sunday BBQ lunch in their beer garden from 12:00 noon onwards today, accompanied by live music from the South Burnett's favourite rock and pop band Mr Q - the perfect way to wrap up your weekend. Everyone is welcome!
Sunday Bingo - Wondai

Free Community Lunch - Kingaroy
A free community lunch will be held at Kingaroy's Senior Citizens Park (between Pound Street and Kingaroy Street) from noon until 2:00pm today. This new weekly lunch is being hosted by South Burnett service clubs and other local volunteers to assist people who are being hit particularly hard by the current pandemic, and everyone is welcome.
Men's Carnival - Proston
The Proston Golf Club on Boondooma Road south of town will be holding their Proston Rural Men's Golf Carnival today, with a shotgun start at 9:00am. There'll be competitions in A, B and C grades and playing fees - which include morning tea and lunch - are just $25. All golfers are welcome! More details? Nanango Kennel Club 30th Anniversary Show
The Nanango Kennel Club will be holding the second day of their two-day 30th Anniversary Dog Show at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street, Nanango from 8:30am to around lunch time today. This huge show usually attracts 300 to 400 magnificent pedigree purebred dogs of all shapes and sizes, and if you're a fan of four-legged friends it's a must-see. Beautiful dogs will be competing (along with their owners) with the ultimate aim of winning Best In Show, and many rare and unusual breeds will be present as well. Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. Queensland State Gliding Competition - Kingaroy
CANCELLED: The Kingaroy Soaring Club will be hosting the 2021 Gliding Queensland State Competition from September 25 to October 1 at Kingaroy Airport. There are approximately 30 entries across 3 different classes of gliders competing in this year's event, with a high class field of entrants, some of whom have represented Australia at the World Gliding level. Kingaroy residents may notice additional glider activity over the airport and around the region during this period.
