South Burnett Tourism Association Meeting - Booie
The South Burnett Tourism Assciation will be holding its bi-monthly mereting at Crane Wines in Haydens Road, Booie from 5:30pm to around 8:30pm this evening (snacks will be served from 5:00pm). The meeting will cover many things of interest to tourism operators, including a talk by the South Burnett Regional Council's Economic Development Manager Phil Harding about a Parnership Agreement with the Regional Tourism Office and the Tourism Strategic Plan; a talk by Shannon Scott, the South Burnett's Industry member on the SQCT board; a round table update by Southern Queensland Country Tourism; an update on the Destination Tourism plan for SQC; marketing partnerships for 2014-15 and upcoming marketing opportunities; and an update on South Burnett Tourism Ambassador Program by Bernie Cooper, as well as a discussion on Australia's Country Way (if time permits). Existing and potential new members are very welcome, but for catering purposes an RSVP to Crane Wines on (07) 4162-7647 would be geatly appreciated.
Elgin Vale QCWA Meeting
The Elgin Vale branch of the QCWA will be holding their monthly meeting at the Elgin Vale QCWA Rooms at the corner of Manumbar Raod and Porters Road, Nanango from 10:30am to around 12:30pm today. New members are always very welcome! Note: This is the September meeting which would normally have been held on September 2 - it has been rescheduled to today because some members will be away next week.
Tuesday Night Karate - Nanango
Ko Tora Kai Karate Do will be running its regular Tuesday night karate classes at the CWA Hall in Fitzroy Street, Nanango (opposite Foodworks) from 6:00pm to 7:30pm this evening. The classes teach karate and self-defense for children, adults and families. The first class is free and if you decide to join, fees are $7 per class thereafter (discounts apply for families). The group currently has three sections in operation: Joeys (for children aged 6 to 8 years); Cubs (8-11 years); and Scouts (11-15 years).
