South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Saturday Rugby League - Cherbourg and Kingaroy
Rugby league fans will have two A-grade games to look forward to today, and if they're prepared to drive they have a chance of seeing both of them. In Cherbourg, the action will kick off early at Jack O'Chin Oval, with the U6s/U8s playing at 10:00am; U10s at 11:00am; U12s at noon; and U16s at 1:00pm. This will be followed by an A-grade clash between the Hornets and the Murgon Mustangs at 2:00pm. Meanwhile in Kingaroy, the junior Red Ants will play the Murgon Mustangs at T.J. O'Neill Oval in Youngman Street, with U6s/U8s getting on the field at 12:30pm; U10s at 2:00pm and U12s at 3:00pm, before an A-grade clash between the Red Ants and Nanango's Stags at 4:00pm. Canteens will be running at both venues and spectators are very welcome.
Winds Of Change Cent Auction - Nanango
The Winds Of Change Art Gallery will be holding a Cent Auction at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street, Nanango this morning. Doors will open at 9:00am and the auction will commence at 10:00am. The $5 admission includes a free sheet of tickets and an entry in the Lucky Door draw. Everyone is welcome! More details? Saturday Soccer - Nanango and Kingaroy
Round 11 of the 2016 South Burnett Football League competition will be played at the Burnett Street soccer fields in Nanango and Tom Alford Oval at the end of Oliver Bond Street in Kingaroy today. In Nanango, the Panthers will take on Wests, with 2nd Division kicking off at noon, followed by the Women's Division at 1:30pm and 1st Division at 3:00pm. And in Kingaroy, Gunners will play Barambah with 2nd Division hitting the park at 2:00pm; Women's Division at 3:30pm; and 1st Division at 5:00pm. Meanwhile, Junior Soccer matches will be taking a break for the school holidays. Note: Nanango's games are being played a little earlier than previously scheduled after a mutual agreement between Panthers and Wests.
Fortunato Isgro - Kingaroy
Popular Italian entertainer Fortunato Isgro will be performing at the Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy from 7:30pm to 11:30pm this evening. Admission is free. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Family Fun And Art Weekend - Blackbutt
The Butt Art Gallery will be holding a Family Fun And Art Weekend at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall in Coulson Street all day today. Doors will open at 8:30am and there'll be lots of fun school holiday activities to keep children of all ages amused, including great Nintendo Wii games at $5 per match. There'll also be demonstrations by artists from the gallery and the Timbertowns Woodworkers group and opportunities to learn papier mache, pottery and many more arts and crafts. A canteen will be running all day offering food and drinks, and in the evening there'll be a Karaoke Night along with a performance by Kingaroy's Sista Girls. Dance - Booie Hall
A dance will be held at Booie Hall at 1867 Booie Road from 7:30pm until around 11:30pm tonight. Music will be supplied by Deryck's Music and there'll be the usual great supper, novelties and lucky door prize. Pig On A Spit Night - Maidenwell
Maidenwell's historic Maidenwell Hotel will be holding another of their popular monthly Pig On A Spit evenings from 6:00pm until late tonight (dinner is served from 6:00pm to 8:00pm). Armed Forces Challenge Social Bowls - Wondai
An Armed Forces Challenge Social Bowls match will be held at the Wondai Country Club on the Bunya Highway north of the CBD at 1:30pm today to welcome people taking part in tomorrow's Reserve Forces Day commemorations to the town. A BBQ lunch will be available and everyone is welcome. Later tonight (about 5:30pm) there'll also be a Meet & Greet at the Hotel Cecil in Mackenzie Street, along with light entertainment. Everyone is welcome to this get-together as well.
Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy

South Burnett Woodcrafters - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Woodcrafters will be holding their regular Saturday morning meeting at their clubhouse, which is located behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre in Haly Street from 8:00am to around mid-day today. Winter School Vacation
Today is the first day of the Winter School Vacation for children attending State schools, and they won't be required to return to class until Monday, July 11. In the South Burnett, Taabinga State School in Kingaroy and the South Burnett PCYC in Murgon will both be running school vacation centres between 7:00am and 6:00pm Mondays to Fridays over the next two weeks to provide holiday activities for children ranging from Prep to Year 7. Motorists will also be able to drive at normal speeds past schools for the next few weeks, too.
