South Burnett Australia Day Awards - Murgon
The South Burnett Regional Council will be presenting the region's 10th annual Australia Day Awards at a special ceremony at Murgon Town Hall in Gore Street, Murgon at 6:30pm this evening. The awards provide the community with an opportunity to acknowledge and reward outstanding groups and individuals committed to improving the lifestyle experience of our region. The award categories that have been chosen give all the region's communities equal opportunity to nominate individuals and/or groups who've made special contributions to the area, and everyone is welcome to attend. Kings Royal - Kingaroy Speedway
Tonight is Day 1 of the three-day Kings Royal speedway event, the biggest annual event on the South Burnett Speedway calendar. Racing gets underway from 5:00pm each night and more than 170 drivers have nominated. Tonight's program will include Modified Sedans, Production Sedans (heats and finals)and Street Stocks. Admission (per night) is Adults $25, Students (with ID) $15, Pensioners (Aged / Disability) $15, Children (12 & under) free and Family (two adults and up to three students) $65. Aussie Rock Legends - Kingaroy
The Commercial Hotel at the corner of Glendon and Haly Streets in Kingaroy will be ushering in the Australia Day long weekend with a night of classic Australian songs performed by popular South Burnett band Mr Q. Tony, Gavin and the boys will be performing everything from ACDC to the Angels from 5:00pm to around 11:30pm. Everyone is welcome and admission is free. More details? Old Time Dancing Classes - Murgon
Old Time Dancing will be held at the South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon at 1:00pm to 3:00pm this afternoon. The class caters to all levels from beginners to advanced, all in a fun and social atmosphere lead by a qualified dance instructor. Kingaroy Community Kitchen
The Kingaroy Community Kitchen will be holding its regular Thursday morning meeting at St Mary's Hall at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 9:30am to around 1:00pm today. Community Kitchen members learn how to cook a variety of budget conscious home-cooked meals, then sit down together for a communal lunch afterwards to enjoy the results for the cost of a gold coin donation. St Joseph's Bingo - Murgon
St Joseph's Parish Hall in Angel Avenue, Murgon will be hosting bingo games from 7:30pm this evening. There'll be $1000 in prizes on offer as well as a canteen and lucky bingo tickets. Proceeds will go to aid St Joseph's school and community works.
Taras Hall Bingo - Nanango

Social Golf - Blackbutt
The Blackbutt Golf Club at 51 Langton Road, Blackbutt will be running their weekly Sporters's Club game at 3:00pm this afternoon. This is a 6 hole event and everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a fun game of golf, as well as the chance to win a chook, golf balls or tees. Green fees are $5:00 for adults and $1:00 for children. Murgon Men's Shed
The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
Great Aussie Treasure Hunt - Murgon

The Ballogie Community Group will be holding their 4th Thursday of the month Hoy games at the Murgon Motor Inn on the Bunya Highway at Murgon from 1:30pm today. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
