South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Jonathan Thurston - Murgon and Kingaroy
Rugby league legend Jonathan Thurston will be dropping into Murgon State High School in Murgon today as part of a three-day visit to bring his JT Academy program to the region. And around noon, he'll be attending a sausage sizzle being held at the Murgon Men's Shed in Macalister Street. Then at 4:00pm, he'll be appearing at the Glendon Street Forecourt in Kingaroy at a free community gathering that will feature football jersey giveaways, a Rotary Club BBQ, live music from Misfitz and raffles which will run through to 7:30pm. Free buses to this event will be running from Blackbutt, Yarraman, Nanango, Murgon, Wondai, Tingoora, Wooroolin, Memerambi, Proston and Hivesville, and you can reserve a seat on them by phoning (07) 4168-1533. Visit South Burnett Meet & Greet - Yarraman
Local tourism organisation Visit South Burnett will be hosting their latest Meet & Greet for 2022 at the Yarraman Caravan Park on the D';Aguilar Highway north of Yarraman's CBD from 6:00pm onwards tonight. The meeting will allow guests to inspect the park's facilities, and this will be followed by short business presentations from VSB members. Anti-Porn Workshop - Kingaroy
Sistas In Sync - a Christian group concerned with making the South Burnett a better place for women and girls - have invited author, speaker and media commentator Melinda Tankard Reist to the region to give a talk on the sexualisation and objectification of women by the media, the pornography industry and the advertising industry, along with strategies parents can use to help combat this. Melinda will be giving her talk at St John's Lutheran School Hall in Ivy Street, Kingaroy at 7:00pm tonight and all concerned parents are very welcome. The first 100 mpeop0le through the door will also be offered a copy of Melinda's free book “How to Talk to Your Kids About Porn”.

Tuesday Night Bingo - Blackbutt

Alcoholics Anonymous - Nanango
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership, nor is it allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
