Scots In The Bush - Boondooma
The fourth - and final - day of this year's Scots In The Bush Scottish and Celtic Festival will be held at Boondooma Homestead at 8262 Mundubbera-Durong Road at Boondooma today. The Festival features Scottish pipe bands and dancers, folk singers and poets as well as Scottish food, games and more; and special guests this year include the Ishka Ceilidh Band, Celtic Psychosis, Velcro, the Leaping Lizards, the Noosa Pipe Band, Darryl Craft, Blackheather and the Rum City Highland Dancers, amongst others. A licensed bar will be running throughout the event and meals will be available too, as well as on-site camping and Highland games. Tickets for the full four days are $50 per head for adults (which includes a bush camping site) but you can just attend today for $10 if you prefer (children under 14 are free). Car Boot Sale, Market Stalls & Car Wash - Kingaroy
A Car Boot Sale, Market Stalls and Car Wash will be held in front of the Adventist Church at 200 Youngman Street in Kingaroy from 7:00am to 1:00pm today. South Burnett Digital Interclub Photography Exhibition - Nanango
The annual South Burnett Camera Clubs Digital Photo Interclub - a showcase of the best digital photography shot around the region over the last year by members of the South Burnett's four photography clubs - will go on public display at St Patrick's School at 16 Alfred Street, Nanango, from 1:00pm this afternoon after judging by Wendy Geddes AFIAP AAPS PSQA, from the Sunshine Coast, concludes. Wendy will comment on each image and provide advice on any improvements the photographers might be able to make to it, so if you have an interest in photography this will be a rare chance to pick up expert tips as well. Admission is by gold coin donation - to cover the cost of tea, coffee and cake - and everyone is welcome! You can also read more about last year's Interclub on our website.
Kilkivan Markets
The weekly Kilkivan Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. Rock & Roll Dance Lessons - Nanango
Rock & Roll Dance Lessons will be held at the Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango from 1:00pm to 3:00pm this afternoon. The cost for a 2-hour lesson is $10 and beginners are very welcome. South Burnett Tabletop Gamers is a small but passionate tabletop games club servicing the South Burnett. Members' core interests usually cover a wide range of board, card and miniatures games, but the group is always on the lookout for new games to play. The main systems current members do play include Warhammer 40k/30k (Games Workshop), Mordheim, 9th Age, Batman Miniatures Game (Knight Models), Infinity (Corvus Belli), Star Wars X-Wing (Fantasy Flight), Magic the Gathering (Wizards), Pokemon TCG, Wrath of Kings (Cool Mini or Not) and a variety of other board games. The group meets at the 1913 Council Chambers behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre in Haly Street, Kingaroy every second Sunday from 10:00am until around 4:00pm. More details? Team Penning Fundraiser - Nanango
The second (and final) day of a weekend-long Team Penning fundraiser to help Samantha Lee and Kaitlin Elliot fund their expedition to India will be held at the Nanango Showgrounds today. This morning will feature Jackpot Team Penning over a single round at 8:00am, and this will be followed later in the day by a Beginner's event.
