Chamber Music At Taabinga Homestead
- Historic Taabinga Homestead at 7 Old Taabinga Road in Haly Creek will be holding a Chamber Music Concert in the Homestead's sitting room from 3:00pm to around 4:30pm this afternoon, along with a great afternoon tea. Today's program will feature trios by Bruch, Mozart and Schumann, solo pieces and more performed by Maree Kilpatrick on piano, Elizabeth Lawrence on viola and Martin Crook on clarinet. Friendship Markets - Kingaroy
- The third Saturday of the month Friendship Markets will be held at the Senior Citizens Centre in Avoca Street, Kingaroy from 6:30am to around 12:00pm today. Murgon Men's Shed Open Day
- The new Murgon Men's Shed at 75 Macalister Street in Murgon will be holding an Open Day & Buy A Bail Fundraiser from 9:00am to 2:00pm today (there'll also be a BBQ running from 10:00am to 1:00pm if you feel peckish). Everyone is welcome along to see what the Men's Shed has to offer and it should be a fun morning out.
QCWA Young Girls' Craft Group - Kingaroy
- The QCWA Young Girls' Craft Group will be holding their regular third Saturday of the month meeting at the QCWA Rooms in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy (just next to the RSL) from 1:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. The group is for young girls aged 10 years and older, who can learn useful crafts and home skills such as sewing, knitting, crochet, cooking, healthy eating, catering and presentation under the supervision of QCWA ladies and a supervisor. There's a small $2 charge each day to cover the cost of goods used, but all young girls are very welcome. South Burnett Woodcrafters - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Woodcrafters will be holding their regular Saturday morning meeting at their clubhouse, which is located behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre in Haly Street from 8:00am to around mid-day today. Kingaroy & District Vintage Machinery Club Rally - Kingaroy
- The annual two-day Kingaroy & District Vintage Machinery Club Rally will be held at Geoff Raph Drive at Kingaroy Airport between 9:00am and 4:00pm today (as well as 9:00am to 12:00 noon tomorrow). The rally attracts vintage machinery enthusiasts from all over South East Queensland and there'll be a huge range of antique machinery on display including cars, tractors, trucks, crawlers and stationary engines. Other highlights include a Grand Parade, slow tractor races, sled pulling, ploughing, ring events and much, much more! If you're hungry, there'll also be a barbecue, food and drink stalls operating all day too. Exhibitors from other clubs are also very welcome, but you'll need to arrange your own public liability insurance (which will be sighted on arrival). Admission is $10, but under-12s can get in for free.
RSPCA Movie Night In The Park - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett RSPCA will be holding an Outdoor Movie Night at Memorial Park in Haly Street West, Kingaroy from 6:00pm onwards tonight as a fundraiser. They'll be screening the popular comedy "Cats & Dogs" and there'll also be popcorn, slushies, cold drinks and coffee available if you get hungry or thirsty (pizza is included in the ticket price). You should BYO blanket and pillows or a chair to set yourself up in comfort. Tickets are $12.50 for adults, $7.50 for children aged 15 or younger, or you can get a family pass (2 adults plus 2 children) for $30. You can obtain tickets in advance by phoning the RSPCA on (07) 4162-5501, but they'll also be available in the park tonight from 5:30pm onwards. Everyone is welcome!
