Goomeri Christmas Carnival
The Goomeri Lions' popular annual Christmas Carnival will be moving from Dickinson Park to a new location this year: the Breitkreutz Pavilion at the Goomeri Showgrounds off the Burnett Highway south of town. The Carnival will kick off at 4:00pm and will feature live music, a visit by Santa Claus, a bar and BBQ, food stalls, a coffee van, ice creams, sno cones, fairy floss, popcorn, soft drinks and local business stalls. There'll also be a free jumping castle, climbing wall, balloon hunt and pony rides to keep children amused, plus games, competitions and business house bingo for adults. The whole night will be capped off with the BGA Agriservices Giant Fireworks Display after dark. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
Nanango Country Markets
The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and routinely attract 300 to 400 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? Phone the Market Co-Ordinator on (0427) 631-273 during business hours. Note: Because these are the last Nanango Country Markets before Christmas, today's markets will have a special Christmas theme, including a surprise visit by Santa Claus during the course of the morning. There'll also be lots of stalls selling Christmas gift items.
Christmas Dance - Inverlaw
A Christmas Dance will be held at Inverlaw Hall on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) from 8:00pm until late this evening. Music will be supplied by the Mystique Band and there'll be the usual great supper and novelties, along with a Lucky Door draw and perhaps even a visit from Santa Claus. Admission fees are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for high school students and everyone is welcome! More details? Phone June on (07) 4162-1195 or David on 0459-228-882.

The event is a fundraiser for Sr Christine Downs & West Community Support to thank them for supporting the South Burnett in the 2011 and 2013 floods, and it will feature a two course Christmas lunch with a free glass of wine or juice, live entertainment (a Wearable Art fashion parade), raffles and a guest speaker.
