Kumbia Kindergarten Charity Golf Day
The Kumbia Kindergarten will be holding a Charity Golf Day at the Kumbia Golf Course on the Bunya Highway from 9:00am to around 2:00pm today as a fundraiser (tee-off is at 9:30am, so don't be late). This will be a fun 4-person ambrose over 9 holes and in addition to golf, there'll also be a great buffet BBQ Banquet supplied by J.C. Catering and beverages supplied by Kumbia Hotel, along with great prizes that will be up for grabs. Tickets are only $32.50 per person (for Kumbia Golf Club members) or $35.00 per person (for non-members), a rate only possible because of generous sponsorship from Stanwell Corporation, but for catering purposes, RSVPs are required by Thursday, October 16. Payment can be made via bank deposit (email kkgolf4610@gmail.com for details); by cheque (post to Kumbia Kindy, Gordon St, Kumbia); or in cash at the Kumbia Hotel or Kumbia Police Station (Wednesdays 9:00am-12:00 noon only). Spring Strings - Wondai
The South Burnett Community Orchestra String Ensemble will be performing a "Spring Strings" concert at Wondai's Church of England Hall at the corner of Baynes and Bramston Streets at 3:00pm this afternoon. Kilkivan Sunday Markets
The weekly Kilkivan Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. Lunch In The Country Smorgasbord - Wondai
Dimities Cottage at 49 Haly Street in Wondai will be holding another of their regular Lunch In The Country Smorgasbords from 12:00pm to 2:00pm today. The buffett features a selection of hot dishes, roast meats, salads, as well as sweets and tea of coffee, and the cost is a modest $15.00 per person for a really great feed (BYO). The Waterhole Rocks Festival - Nanango
The third (and final) day of the three-day Waterhole Rocks rock 'n' roll campout weekend will get underway at the Nanango Showgrounds at 9:00am this moning with a big Show & Shine, along with dancing and music on the new dance floor purchased for this year's festival between 9:00am and 12:00 noon, after which things will begin wrapping up. This new festival is devoted to all things associated with 1950s and 1960s rock 'n' roll. This includes hot rods, custom cars and vintage caravans. A bar and canteen will be operating too and admission today is $5. Camping will also be available at the Showgrounds for $8.50 per person per night if you want to bunk down on site. Sunday Afternoon Poker - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy RSL in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy will be hosting Sunday afternoon poker games today. Registration starts at 2:00pm and the first cards are dealt at 2:30pm. There are $150 in prizes to be won and no fees to play. More details from the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
Sunday Junior Cricket - Murgon
The South Burnett's U12s, U13s,m U14s and U16s junior cricketers will take on Bundaberg at the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street and Murgon State High School today. Matches will be held at various times from 9:00am onwards, and spectators and supporters are very welcome.
Timbertown Woodworkers Meeting - Blackbutt
The Timbertown Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:00am until around 12:00pm today. Sunday Afternoon Darts - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Darts Association will be holding their regular Sunday afternoon Pot Luck Doubles darts competitions from 11:00am to 4:00pm at their premises at Shed 1, 18 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. A $10 playing fee applies, but that includes a great BBQ lunch.
