Ringsfield Film Society Movie Afternoon - Nanango
The Ringsfield Film Society will be screening a Sunday afternoon movie at their cinema - the old chapel in the grounds of Ringsfield House at 41-45 Alfred Street, Nanango - at 2:30pm today. This month's film is "Muriel's Wedding", a wonderful 1994 Australian classic which stars actors Toni Collette, Rachel Griffiths, Jeanie Drynan, Sophie Lee, and Bill Hunter. Muriel's Wedding focuses on the socially awkward Muriel, whose ambition is to have a glamorous wedding and improve her personal life by moving from her dead-end home town - the fictional Porpoise Spit - to Sydney. This beautifully crafted movie is both funny and sad (but mostly funny) and received multiple award nominations, including a Golden Globe nomination for Toni Collette, which helped launch her international career. Blackbutt Lions Country Markets
