South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Kingaroy & District Vintage Machinery Club Rally
The first day of the annual two day Kingaroy & District Vintage Machinery Club Rally will be held at Geoff Raph Drive at Kingaroy Airport between 9:00am and 5:00pm today. The rally attracts vintage machinery enthusiasts from all over South East Queensland and there'll be a huge range of antique machinery on display including cars, tractors, trucks, crawlers and stationary engines. Other highlights include a Grand Parade, slow tractor races, sled pulling, ploughing, ring events and much, much more! If you're hungry, there'll also be a barbecue, food and drink stalls operating all day too. Exhibitors from other clubs are also very welcome, but you'll need to arrange your own public liability insurance (which will be sighted on arrival). Admission today is $10, but under-16s can get in for free.
Mr Q - Kingaroy
Popular South Burnett band Mr Q will be performing at the Commercial Hotel at the corner of Glendon and Haly Streets, Kingaroy from 9:00pm until late tonight, delivering the band's popular mix of classic pub rock and new faves. Mr Q pretty much burned the house down at their last concert in August, so the Commie have invited them back to do it all over again. Moore Hall Markets
The monthly Moore Hall Markets will be held in the grounds surrounding the Soldiers Hall just off the D'Aguilar Highway in Moore's CBD from 6:30am to around noon this morning. The markets are held on the third Saturday of each month and new stallholders are always welcome.
All You Need Is Music - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Community Orchestra will be performing "All You Need Is Music" at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy at 5:00pm tonight (doors open at 4:30pm). During the concert, the SBCO will be exploring classic rock, pop, movie and musical favourites from The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Bruno Mars, the Beatles and many more and optional $15 snack boxes will be available at interval for those who ordered them by September 15, along with a licensed bar. Concert tickets are $15 for adults or $10 for concessions, and family tickets (2 adults and unlimited U18 children) are available for $30. Nanango Stamp Club Meeting
The Nanango Stamp Club will be holding its monthly meeting at Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango at 10:00am this morning, followed by an optional lunch at the RSL's servery. Blue September Market Day - Proston
Proston will be holding a Blue September Market Day in Blake Street from 9:00am to 12:00 noon this morning. The event is a fund-raiser for Proston Village as well as an awareness raiser for the fight against men's cancer and there'll be a variety of stalls on offer. A dog wash will also be operating outside nearby Proston Rural between 9:00am and noon, and everyone is welcome.
Spring Market Emporium - Murgon
Graham House Community Centre at 21 Taylor Street East in Murgon will be holding a Spring Market Emporium from 8:00am to 11:00am this morning featuring market stalls, a coffee van, a jumping castle for children and live entertainment. There's no admission and everyone is welcome. Stall bookings are also available and you can make one by phoning (07) 4169-8400. Note: This event was originally scheduled for September 25, but has been moved forward a week
Wondai Parkrun
The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed runs at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the parkrun group is free to join. All you need to do is register (once) online at parkrun.com.au and bring the printed barcode to any parkrun event. More details? Send an email.

Yarraman Markets
The Yarraman Progress Association's Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways (ie opposite Bendigo Bank) in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. The markets feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls, and are held weekly. Everyone is welcome and if you'd like to book a stall yourself - it's only $5! - call Joe on (0459) 638-282. Note: All patrons and stallholders are asked to observe proper social distancing to stay safe.
Yarraman Men's Shed
The Yarraman Men's Shed at the end of Mill Street, Yarraman will be holding one of its regular get-togethers today. The Men's Shed is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and new members are always welcome. More details? Send them an email
Barambah Shed Men - Byee
All men and young blokes have been invited to the 46th meeting of the Barambah Shed Men, which will be held this afternoon at Russell Bishop’s shed at “Byefields” at 672 Silverleaf Road in Byee. Guest speakers are Russell - who grew up in the area as part of a farming family - and Duncan Brown, who was a Country Life journalist who then became the CEO of Scripture Union Qld. Everything will get under way at 4:30pm and the $15 cost includes a meal, dessert, soft drinks and tea/coffee (under 15s are free). Plumbdogs - Wondai

Saturday Cricket - Murgon
The Murgon Crusaders will play the Gympie Royals at the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street, Murgon from 12:00 noon today in the second round of Gympie A-Grade Competition. Spectators are very welcome.
Horsemanship Open House Weekend - Woolooga
Quantum Savvy Horsemanship will be running a two-day Open House Weekend at their property at 1 Jones Street, Woolooga from 9:00am today through to 2:00pm tomorrow. The event will include free horsemanship demonstrations, workshops on handling common horse issues (soreness, saddle fitting, what to look for when buying a horse etc), tutorials on several riding styles and riding exhibitions. The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
Kingaroy Friendship Markets
The third Saturday of the month Friendship Markets will be held at Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 7:00am to around 12:00pm today. The markets are jointly run by the Kingaroy Show Society and feature a great range of arts, crafts, fruit and garden stalls, plus unusual bric-a-brac. New stallholders are always very welcome! Keith & Anne Shaw Golf Day - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway south-west of the CBD will be holding its annual Keith & Anne Shaw Golf Day from 11:00am today (for an 11:30am shotgun start).
