South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Burrandowan Campdraft
The second day of the 3-day Burrandowan Campdraft will get underway at the Chahpingah Recreation Reserve at Burrandowan at 5:30am this morning. Today's campdrafting events are the second half and the final of the Grahame Hugh Downs Memorial Novice (the first half ran yesterday), followed by the 2nd and final round of the Open Campdraft (there'll also be a gymkhana running from 9:00am to noon in the morning for riders aged from under 8s to 17 years). In the evening, there'll be a meal in hall rib, presentations for the Open and Novice drafts and live entertainment. Natalie Fenton - Kingaroy
Popular solo entertainer Natalie Fenton will be performing at the Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy from 7:00pm until late tonight. Admission is free. More details from the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Cent Auction - Kumbia
The Kumbia QCWA will be holding the South Burnett's first cent auction of 2018 at their rooms in Bell Street, Kumbia at 10:00am this morning. In addition to a great range of items to bid on, there'll also be a Lucky Door prize, a raffle and one of the QCWA's famous morning teas. Admission is just $10 but to help plan the catering, an email RSVP would be greatly appreciated.
Sistas In Synch Brunch - Kingaroy
Sistas In Sync will be relaunching for 2018 this morning with a bring-a-plate shared brunch at the Uniting Church in Alford Street, Kingaroy (opposite Shoppingworld) at 9:30am this morning. Sistas in Sync's aim is to make the South Burnett a better place for women and girls, and all women and girls are welcome.
Beginner's Running Course - Kingaroy
Kingaroy's Go Getta Girls will be holding a one day beginner running course at Memorial Park in Haly Street from 6:00am to 10:00am this morning. The course is for women over 18 who are interested in learning to run or improving their running. The course covers basic running technique, warm ups, stretches, hill running and running-specific strength exercises. If you'd like to take part you should bring comfy clothes, shoes to run in, a hat, water, a towel and perhaps sunscreen. Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Bowls Club at 141 Youngman St, Kingaroy will be running bingo matches from 7:30pm this evening with over $1000 in prizes on offer. More details from the club on (07) 4162-1404
Psychic Fair - Maidenwell

South Burnett Shed Men - Wondai
The South Burnett Shed Men will be meeting at Owen Blamires' shed at 89 Hines Street, Wondai at 8:00pm this evening. Owen will be speaking about his recent experiences helping cyclone victims in Vanuatu. There'll be tea and coffee available along with 3 BBQs, and guests are welcome to bring their own food and soft drinks and cook up their own BBQ dinner if they wish. Wondai Parkrun
The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed run at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the parkrun group is free to join. Proston Men's Shed
The Proston Men's Shed will be meeting at the old railway station building at Railway Park in Rodney Street, Proston for its regular Saturday morning meeting today, kicking off with a cuppa at 9:00am. Chinese New Year Banquet - Blackbutt

Kingaroy Markets
The third Saturday of the month Kingaroy Markets will be held at the Cheers Triangle end of the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 7:00am to around 12:00pm today. The markets are jointly run by the Kingaroy Rotary Club and Kingaroy Show Society and feature a great array of arts, crafts, fruit and flower stalls. New stallholders are always very welcome! Murgon Men's Shed
The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
South Burnett Ladies Night Out - Kingaroy
While the South Burnett Shed Men are meeting in Wondai (see elsewhere on this page), their wives and other women will be holding a Ladies Night Out at 19 Avocado Crescent in Kingaroy from 5:30pm. All women are welcome, but should bring along a plate of finger foods for a shared supper.
Pink Stumps Charity Lawn Bowls Night - Wondai
A Pink Stumps charity lawn bowls night will be held at the Wondai Country Club on the Bunya Highway north of Wondai's CBD from 6:00pm until late this evening. The event is a fundraiser for the McGrath Foundation and will kick off with a BBQ at 6:00pm, followed by lawn bowls at 7:00pm. There'll also be a licensed bar, multi-draw raffles and novelty prizes. Tickets are $15 per head - which includes a burger - and everyone is welcome. You can read what last year's event was like (and see photos) on our website Note: This was originally planned for Friday night, but was postponed at the last minute due to wet weather.
Wondai Social Fishing Club BBQ
