South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Ken O'Dowd Visit - Hivesville and Proston
Member For Flynn Ken O'Dowd is paying a flying three-day visit to the South Burnett to hear local concerns about any problems residents are having with Federal Government agencies, answer questions about Federal issues and provide an update on the upcoming Federal election. Mr O'Dowd's electorate stretches all the way to Gladstone and the South Burnett is at its extreme end, so he can't often be here in person. But today he'll be holding meetings at the Hivesville Hotel in Main Street, Hivesville from 5:00pm to 6:15pm, then nipping down to the Golden Spurs Hotel in Blake Street, Proston for a second round of meetings from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. Members of the public are very welcome to come talk with him.
South Burnett Toastmasters - Kingaroy
South Burnett Toastmasters will be holding a meeting in the Anzac Room of Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy at 7:00pm this evening. Toastmasters is a great way to learn how to speak in public and boost your self-confidence, and new members are always very welcome! Meetings are held on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursdays of the month. Lake Boondooma Brawl
The Lake Boondooma Brawl - the sixth qualifying round of the 8-round B.A.S.S. Australia Nation Pro Series - will be held at Lake Boondooma near Proston from today until Sunday.
Makers, Bakers & Growers Markets - Kingaroy
Boots & Bulldust will be running the weekly Makers, Bakers and Growers Markets in Kingaroy today. The markets feature fresh food and crafts produced exclusively in the South Burnett and surrounding areas, along with great hand-crafted pizzas, and are now held at the rear of the Broadway Hotel in Glendon Street, Kingaroy (opposite Shoppingworld) between 9:00am and 5:30pm. Thursday Night League Training - Kingaroy
Training for Kingaroy Red Ants U16, U18 and A Grade players will be held at T.J. O'Neill Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy this evening. U16s and U18s start training at 5:30pm, and A grade players at 6:00pm.
NaTDA Meeting - Nanango
The Nanango Tourism & Development Association will be holding its monthly dinner meeting in the Long Hai Room at the Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango at 5:00pm this evening (meeting starts at 5:30pm). The NaTDA aims to assist, foster, instigate and/or manage any project that could contribute to the advancement of the communities in and around Nanango, and it represents the interests of the Nanango community, business and tourism operators. All interested people are very welcome to come along and get involved! Afterwards, the meeting will be followed by an informal social dinner at the RSL's bistro. Murgon Spinning, Weaving & Dyeing Group
The Murgon Spinning, Weaving & Dyeing Group will be holding a meeting at Graham House at 21 Taylor Street East in Murgon from 9:00am to 2:00pm today. Old Time Dancing Classes - Murgon
Old Time Dancing will be held at the South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon at 1:00pm to 2:30pm this afternoon. The class caters to all levels from beginners to advanced, all in a fun and social atmosphere lead by a qualified dance instructor. South Burnett Computer Users Group - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Computer Users Group will be holding their fortnightly meeting from 10:00am today at the Orana Drop-In Centre at MacDiarmid Street in Kingaroy. The SBCUG is a not-for-profit group that aims to help seniors get the most from their computers. Beginners through to more advanced users are catered for with demonstrations and practical lessons. If you're interested in becoming confident using your computer, you're very welcome to come and learn in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The meeting starts at 10:00am with an hour's break for lunch from noon to 1:00pm, and then continues until around 4:00pm. The South Burnett Saints AFL Club will be holding their regular Thursday night training session at Lyle Vidler Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy (just next to Beangrowers) at 5:30pm.
Thursday Afternoon Futsal - Kingaroy

Cotton Workshop - Murgon
Cotton Australia is holding a free workshop at the Murgon Services Club in Lamb Street from 9:00am to 3:00pm today to help local growers understand their legal and industry obligations in relation to workplace health and safety. The workshop will help growers understand safety legislation and how it needs to be applied on their farms. It will cover documentation, Better Cotton Initiative certification and other legal obligations. Kingaroy Community Kitchen
The Kingaroy Community Kitchen will be holding its regular Thursday morning meeting at St Mary's Hall at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 9:30am to around 1:00pm today. Community Kitchen members learn how to cook a variety of budget conscious home-cooked meals, then sit down together for a communal lunch afterwards to enjoy the results for the cost of a gold coin donation. Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
