Murgon Christmas Carnival
The Murgon Business and Development Association will be staging Murgon's 21st Annual Christmas Fair from 5:30pm until around 9:30pm this afternoon and evening in Lamb Street, Murgon. Highlights of this year's Christmas Fair include live entertainment from street performers, stage and roving entertainers including the Wondai & District Band and Jeff Hancox (the South Burnett's very own Elvis); lots of inexpensive children's rides; heaps of food stalls and around $5,000 in prizes and giveaways to be won by lucky shoppers who've been patronising Murgon's Christmas Fair stores. As usual, Santa Claus will be making an appearance to delight the youngsters and pose for photographs with them between 6:00pm and 8:15pm, and the event will be professionally emceed too. Community Breakfast - Nanango
A free community breakfast will be held at the IGA car park in Fitzroy Street, Nanango between 7:00am and 9:00am this morning to mark almost two years since the 2013 floods swept across the South Burnett. SES crews and emergency services personnel will be on hand to talk about disaster management issues; SBRC Mayor Wayne Kratzmann will also be in attendance to answer questions on any topic at all; and there'll be live entertainment and an outside broadcast by CROW-FM 90.7. Today's breakfast is the first in a series of five - others will be held at Kingaroy (tomorrow), Wooroolin (Wednesday), Wondai (Thursday) and Murgon (Friday). Everyone is welcome.
Wondai SES Meeting
The Wondai SES will be holding their regular Monday night training session at their shed in McCord Street, Wondai from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Anyone from the Wondai and Tingoora areas who's interested in joining the SES (or simply finding out more about what's involved) is very welcome to come along. More details? Judo Club Training Night - Murgon
The Murgon Judo Club will be holding its regular Monday training night at the Salvation Army Hall in Macalister Street, Murgon from 5:30pm to around 7:00pm this evening. Alcoholics Anonymous - Wondai
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths and hopes with each other to help solve their common problems and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership, and AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution.
