MBDA Meet & Greet - Murgon
The Murgon Business and Development Association will be holding its first ever Meet & Greet at the Murgon Men's Shed in Macalister Street, Murgon at 6:00pm this evening. This informal get-together will allow MBDA members to network in an informal atmosphere (and potential new members to see what the group is all about) over refreshments and nibbles, as well as look over the Men's Shed's facilities and hear more about their plans to build a Railway Museum. Admission is by gold coin donation - BYO drinks - and everyone is welcome, whether they're MBDA members or not.
Introduction to Composting and Worm Farming - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Regional Council will be running a free Introduction to Composting and Worm Farming workshop at Kingaroy Town Hall from 6:00pm to 7:30pm this evening. According to a recent study, roughly one-third of all household rubbish produced in the South Burnett at the moment is food scraps that could be converted to compost to invigorate household gardens and reduce landfill. This workshop will show how easy it is to create compost and help the environment at the same time. Everyone is welcome!
Quilting And Dichroic Glass Workshops - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery's Winter Craft Festival will be running throughout June and July, and today the Gallery will be offering two free workshops as well. In one workshop, artist Ruth Wagner will be demonstrating the art of quilting from 11:30am to 1:30pm; and in the other, members of the Jumping Ants Art Group will be demonstrating dichroic glass techniques from 10:30am to 12:30pm. The Gallery is located in Haly Street, Kingaroy (opposite the peanut silos) and there's no fee to view this year's Winter Craft Exhibition or either of the two demonstrations.
Nanango Men's Shed
The Nanango Men's Shed at the corner of Mt Stanley Road and Heathermore Lane, Nanango will be open from 8:30am to around 12:30pm today for its regular Monday get-together. Stanwell Apprentice & Trainee Information Night - Nanango
Stanwell will be holding an Information Night about their 2023 apprenticeship and trainee programs at Nanango High School's hall at the end of Cairns Street, Nanango from 5:30pm to 7:00pm tonight. Applications for these positions opened on June 13 and will close on July 3, and all interested young people (and their parents) are welcome.
Murgon Men's Shed
The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
Biggest Morning Tea - Goomeri
A Biggest Morning Tea to help raise funds for the Queensland Cancer Council will be held at the Goomeri Hall Of Memory in Boonara Street, Goomeri at 9:30am this morning. Apart from a great morning tea, today's get-together will also feature a guest speaker and a raffle. Everyone is welcome!
Alcohol & Drug Use Workshop - Murgon
Breakthrough For Families Queensland will be holding a workshop at Graham House Community Centre at 21 Taylor Street East in Murgon from 12:00 noon to 2:00pm today to provide information about how to prevent substance abuse by family members, friends or loved ones. Wednesday Bingo - Kumbia
RSL Bingo will be played at Kumbia Hall in Bell Street today, with a daytime session starting at 10:00am (for a 10:30am start) and an evening session running at 6:00pm (for a 6:30pm start). Today's bingo games will be offering Jackpot Prizes starting at $50, a Lucky Door prize, a meat raffle, food and drinks and they're being run with assistance from Kingaroy RSL. Everyone is welcome!
Kingaroy Men's Shed
The Kingaroy Men's Shed will be holding their regular Wednesday morning meeting at the old Motor Pool building off Geoff Raph Drive at Kingaroy Airport from 9:00am to around noon today. The group meet every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday morning and new members and visitors are always welcome.
SBRC Standing Committee Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding its monthly Finance Standing Committee Meeting at the Warren Truss Chambers inside its Glendon Street offices in Kingaroy from 9:00am this morning. Interested people can view the meeting via a livestream on the Council's website.
Soiuth Burnett Arts Roundtable - Kingaroy
The quarterly South Burnett Arts Roundtable will be held at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy from 5:30pm to around 7:00pm tonight. The Arts Roundtable is an opportunity for the South Burnett's arts community to network and share ideas, opportunities and future plans with each other. Tonight's meeting will receive updates from South Burnett Arts, the South Burnett Regional Council and CQRASN. Everyone with an interest in the arts is welcome and there's no admission.
Wednesday Devonshire Teas - Blackbutt

The South Burnett Gem and Fossicking Club will be holding their regular Wednesday meeting at their club's Wondai workshop in the old Wondai Railway Station at Coronation Park in the town's CBD from 5:30pm to around 7:30pm tonight. The club embraces all aspects of lapidary (including gem hunting and cutting) and meets every Monday and Thursday in Kingaroy, with Wednesday workshops in Wondai for faceting and silverwork. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. AA meets in Murgon every Wednesday from 6:00pm to around 7:30pm at the Baptist Church at 94 MacAlister Street, and members who can't make it in person can join in the meeting online via Zoom.
