South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
2022 Blackbutt Show
CANCELLED The 88th annual Blackbutt Show will be held at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Hart Street, Blackbutt from 5:00am this morning (when the gates open) until late tonight. Due to recent wet weather, the Show Society have had to reluctantly postpone or cancel some events planned for this year's Show, but the pavilion displays, bar, canteen and live music in the evening will all be going ahead, along with the popular woodchop and chainsawing competitions as well. There'll also be entertainment for children; and live music from 8:00pm until midnight. In addition - because of the enforced wet weather cutbacks - admission to this year's Show is free. Railway Parkrun - Proston
The Proston parkrun group will be holding its weekly 5km timed walk/run at Railway Park in Rodney Street, Proston at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the former railway line and the parkrun group is free to join. All you need to do is register (once) online at parkrun.com.au and bring the printed barcode to any parkrun event.
Dance - Inverlaw Hall
CANCELLED A dance will be held at Inverlaw Hall on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) from 8:00pm until late this evening. Music will be supplied by Diamonds and there'll be the usual great supper and novelties, along with a Lucky Door draw. Barlight - Kingaroy

Bunya Mountains Trivia Night
The Bunya Mountains Community Association will be holding a Trivia Night at Poppies Cafe in Bunya Avenue, Bunya Mountains from 6:00pm until late this evening. Guests at this event will play in teams of 8 and will be treated to plates of hot finger foods to start with, and followed by savoury sharing platters, dessert platters and then cheese platters. There'll also be a licensed bar in operation, along with a Lucky Door prize, a multi draw raffle and a share prize for the winning table. Cr Gavin Jones will be the evening's Trivia Caller and everyone is welcome! Tickets are $65 per person or $480 for a table of 8, and they can be booked by phoning 0404-040-003. Note: This Trivia Night is a fundraiser for a Bunya Mountains Community Centre that BMCA hope to build in the Bunya Mountains to provide a public meeting space for local groups and community activities to use.
Saturday Night Karaoke - Yarraman
The Royal Hotel in Toomey Street, Yarraman will be holding a Karaoke Night Party from 7:00pm until late this evening. Charity Bowls Day - Tansey
A Charity Bowls Day to raise funds for RACQ Lifeflight will be held at the Tansey Bowls Club off the Burnett Highway at Tansey today. Social bowls games will start at 2:30pm and the BBQs will fire up at 5:30pm. There'll also be a licensed bar running and a multi-draw raffle with lots of great prizes. More details? Yarraman Markets
The Yarraman Progress Association's Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways (ie opposite Bendigo Bank) in Yarraman from 8:00am until around 1:00pm today. The markets feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls, and are held weekly. Everyone is welcome and if you'd like to book a stall yourself - it's only $5! - call Joe on (0459) 638-282. Note: All patrons and stallholders are asked to observe proper social distancing to stay safe.
Proston Men's Shed
The Proston Men's Shed will be meeting at their workshop buildings at Railway Park in Rodney Street, Proston for their regular Saturday morning get-together today, kicking off with a cuppa at 8:00am and continuing on until noon.
