South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
KCCI Meet & Greet - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be holding its regular six-weekly meet'n'greet for local businesspeople at 5:15pm this evening. Tonight's host is Crowie's Paints at 202-204 Haly Street, Kingaroy and owner Simon Gibson will be talking about the services his store offers. Other speakers from local businesses and the South Burnett Regional Council will also provide updates. Meeting fees are $10 per person - which includes nibbles and drinks - and the meeting is open to everyone, whether they're KCCI members or not. For catering purposes, though, an RSVP to info@kcci.asn.au by May 12 would be greatly appreciated.
Community Forum - Murgon
A community forum will be held at Murgon State High School's library from 5:00pm to around 6:30pm this evening to discuss the possible development of a community hub. The forum is being organised by the Department of Education, who have also been consulting with Cherbourg and South Burnett council representatives, traditional owners and elders, and staff and students from Murgon district schools. Tonight's forum is looking for input from community groups and local businesses to ensure that if a hub is established, it meets community needs. The event will be catered by the Cherbourg Cafe, and everyone is welcome.
Tick Line Review Meetings - Proston and Durong
The committee established by the State Government in March to review how the new boundaries of the Tick Line are working out will be holding two public meetings today to gather feedback from interested cattle producers. The first will be held at the Proston Community Hall in Rodney Street, Proston at 9:30am; and it will be followed by a second meeting at Durong Hall on the Chinchilla-Wondai Road at Durong at 2:00pm. All interested people are encouraged to attend.
Nanango Scout Group
The Nanango Scout Club - which meets every Tuesday night during school terms - will be holding its regular weekly meeting at the Scout Den at 40 Henry Street, Nanango (just next to the police station) from 5:30pm to around 7:00pm tonight. The group currently has three sections in operation: Joeys (for children aged 6 to 8 years); Cubs (8-11 years); and Scouts (11-15 years). Indoor Bowls - Wondai
The Wondai Indoor Bowls Club will be holding its regular Tuesday meeting at the Wondai Town Hall in Mackenzie Street, Wondai at 7:30pm this evening. Three games of 12 ends are played, lasting up to three hours, and playing fees are $3. Proston Men's Shed
The Proston Men's Shed will be meeting at the old railway station building at Railway Park in Rodney Street, Proston for its regular Tuesday meeting today, kicking off with a cuppa at 9:00am. Heritage House at 26 Millar Street in Yarraman will be hosting its weekly Tuesday morning 500 card games from 10:00am to around 1:00pm today, followed by a light lunch. RSPCA Volunteer Induction - Kingaroy
The South Burnett RSPCA at Warren Truss Drive in Kingaroy Airport will be holding an induction for new shelter volunteers at 11:00am this morning. The only requirement to volunteer at the shelter is that you can commit to one shift per week for a minimum of three months, you are over the age of 16 and are up to date with your tetanus shots. The shelter is looking for volunteer drivers, office workers, gardeners, cleaners, handymen (and women!) and people to fill many other roles. More details? Phone the shelter on (07) 4162-5501.

Danny's Diner - Kingaroy
Danny's Diner - a free community dinner - will be held at the Uniting Church Hall at the corner of Alford and Youngman streets in Kingaroy from 5:30pm to 7:00pm tonight. The dinner is an initiative of the Kingaroy District Ministry Association for the benefit of anyone who's hungry or otherwise doing it tough. Alcoholics Anonymous - Nanango
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
