Colours Of Yarraman Festival
The second - and final - day of Yarraman's annual Colours Of Yarraman Festival will be held in Yarraman today. Activities will kick off at 7:30am in Errol Munt Park on the New England Highway with a free community breakfast, sponsored by the Bendigo Bank, which will run to 9:30am. This will be followed by free kids’ activities organised by the Yarraman Sporting Group, along with the announcement of the winners of the Mobile Garden Competition at 10:00am. This in turn will be followed by Cow Pat Bingo (!) and live entertainment from country singer Noel McGrath. Wild Horse FM will be also be doing a special live broadcast from the park with on-air competitions, and after the festivities wind down around noon the Yarraman Bowls Club in Margaret Street will be running Barefoot Bowls matches from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Murgon CBD Markets
- The monthly Murgon Markets will be held in Lamb Street in the heart of Murgon from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. Castra Cent Auction - Murgon
- A Cent Auction to help raise funds to buy a new bus for Castra will be held at the Castra Retirement Home at 2 Coopers Street in Murgon from 9:00am this morning (10:00am start). Admission is $5, which includes a sheet of tickets and a great morning tea, and extra sheets are just $1 each. There'll also be lucky door prizes, raffles, and vintage car rides for a gold coin donation. Everyone is welcome!
Murgon RC Club Race Meeting - Murgon
The Murgon RC Club for radio-controlled cars will be holding Round 5 of their Winter Series at Angelfield Aerodrome at the end of Macalister Street, Murgon from 10:00am to 2:00pm today (drive w-a-y past the Showgrounds along the dirt road and through the gate marked "Private Property"). Competitors will be racing six gruelling 7-minute laps before the adrenalin packed finals, and there'll be a BBQ lunch and soft drinks available too. Spectators are more than welcome to come along for free, but to take part in the racing you'll need to be a PCYC member ($30 per year for an adult or $60 per family - you can join up on site today) and the fee for racing is $10. - The weekly Kilkivan Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. The South Burnett Darts Association will be holding their regular Sunday afternoon Pot Luck Doubles darts competitions from 11:00am to 4:00pm at their premises at Shed 1, 18 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. A $10 playing fee applies, but that includes a great BBQ lunch.
