Art Exhibition Opening - Kingaroy

Brisbane-based Noel's two distinct styles - bright, bold, highly textured landscapes and charcoal drawings and pastel collages of women - have never been allowed to be hung together before. The visually stunning exhibition makes for a roller-coaster ride through three Gallery spaces, with the harsh realities of the Australian desert giving way to the barren world of Antarctica, before engaging with the women who are the subject of his drawings. Admission to tonight's opening is free and everyone is welcome! Note: After tonight's opening the exhibition will remain on display at the Gallery from 10:00am to 4:00pm weekdays and 10:00am to 2:00pm on weekends and public holidays until Wednesday, October 7.

The Murgon Golf Course off the Bunya Highway south of town will be hosting the first Mayor's Charity Golf Day for 2015 today. Proceeds of today's event will go to the Mayor's Community Benefit Fund, which distributes grants to not-for-profit South Burnett community groups. Everyone is welcome! Note: A second Mayor's Charity Golf Day will be held in Kingaroy a little later this year.
