South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Visit South Burnett Meeting - Nanango
A meeting to introduce the new Visit South Burnett local tourism organisation will be held at Nanango RSL's Long Hai Room in George Street, Nanango from 5:30pm to 6:30pm this evening. Visit South Burnett are a new grassroots organisation of local tourism operators working in partnership with the South Burnett Regional Council to revamp tourism marketing, and the meetings will allow local tourism operators to hear and discuss VSB's plans and join the organisation if they wish. VSB is led by Jason Kinsella from Moffatdale Ridge and several other long-established South Burnett tourism operators, and the new organisation will be officially launched next month. KCCI Meet & Greet - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be holding its first six-weekly meet'n'greet for 2020 at Husky's Burgers in the forecourt outside SupaIGA in Avoca Street, Kingaroy from 5:30pm this evening. Tonight's meeting will hear presentations from Daniel and Mary Huskisson, the owners of Husky's Burgers (Kingaroy's newest eatery), along with updates from the South Burnett Regional Council about Kingaroy's revitalisation; and Stanwell about Tarong Power Station and Meandu Mine. Cost is $10 per person - which includes nibbles and drinks - and the meeting is open to everyone, whether they're KCCI members or not. For catering purposes, though, an RSVP by email by February 10 would be greatly appreciated.
Murgon Mustangs Sign-On
The Murgon Mustangs rugby league football club will be holding a Sign On for their 2020 season at the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street, Murgon from 4:30pm this afternoon. New players of all ages are very welcome!
Yarraman Morning Card Games
Heritage House at 26 Millar Street in Yarraman will be hosting its weekly Tuesday morning 500 card games from 10:00am to around 1:00pm today, followed by a light lunch. Avocado Regional Forum - Blackbutt
Avocados Australia, Hart Australia and the Queensland Government will be holding a free Avocado Regional Forum today at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall in Bowman Road, capped off with an orchard walk at Mt Binga's Touchwood Farm in the afternoon. The meeting will feature several guests speakers discussing various aspects of avocado farming, including drought management. It will start at 9:15am and run through until 3:00pm. The forum would be of interest to any commercial avocado farmer, and you can obtain today's agenda on the Net.
Social Bowls - Nanango

Grief & Loss Program - Kingaroy
Blue Care will begin running a course to assist people who are dealing with the loss of a loved one at the Blue Care Community Hall at 43 Windsor Circle, Kingaroy from 5:30pm to 7:30pm tonight. This free program will run for two hours a week over 8 weeks and will provide participants with information, practical advice and effective coping skills to deal with grief and loss, along with social and emotional support. Danny's Diner - Kingaroy
Danny's Diner - a free community dinner - will be held at the Uniting Church Hall at the corner of Alford and Youngman streets in Kingaroy from 5:30pm to 7:00pm tonight. The dinner is an initiative of the Kingaroy District Ministry Association for the benefit of anyone who's hungry or otherwise doing it tough. Alcoholics Anonymous - Nanango
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
