Thursday Farmer's Markets - Kingaroy
Growing The Burnett will be holding their Mid-Week Markets in Kingaroy today. The markets feature fresh food and crafts produced exclusively in the South Burnett, and are held in O'Neill Square in Haly Street, Kingaroy between 12:00 noon and 6:30pm. Kumbia Community Morning Tea
The Kumbia Progress Association will be holding their monthly Community Morning Tea at 10:00am this morning at the Kumbia QCWA rooms in Bell Street. Everyone is welcome along to this free get-together for residents who live in and around the Kumbia area, and you can enjoy some laughs and a great morning tea at no charge.
Yarraman Over 50s Club Meeting
The Yarraman Over 50s Club will be holding their regular second Thursday of the month meeting at Kitty Cook House in Emmett Street. Yarraman from 9:00am this morning. The Over 50s Cloub is an active social group with around 40 members and meeting days can include activities such as cards, exercises, and choir practice, as well as lunch. Thursday Night AFL Training - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Saints men's AFL team will be holding a training session at Lyle Vidler Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy at 5:45pm tonight. The boys are working hard ahead of this weekend's grand final.
South Burnett Computer Users Group - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Computer Users Group will be holding their fortnightly meeting from 10:00am today at the Orana Drop-In Centre at MacDiarmid Street in Kingaroy. The SBCUG is a not-for-profit group that aims to help seniors get the most from their computers. Beginners through to more advanced users are catered for with demonstrations and practical lessons. If you're interested in becoming confident using your computer, you're very welcome to come and learn in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The meeting starts at 10:00am with an hour's break for lunch from noon to 1:00pm, and then continues until around 4:00pm. St Joseph's Bingo - Murgon
St Joseph's Parish Hall in Angel Avenue, Murgon will be hosting bingo games from 7:30pm this evening. There'll be $1000 in prizes on offer as well as a canteen and lucky bingo tickets. Proceeds will go to aid St Joseph's school and community works.
Country Music Night - Nanango
An informal Country Music Night will be held at the Uniting Church Hall in Gipps Street, Nanango at 7:30pm tonight. The get-together is open to both spectators and performers, and the $2 entry fee includes supper. Everyone is welcome!

Quota Charity Golf Day - Kingaroy
The Quota Club of Kingaroy will be holding their 40th annual Open Charity Golf Day at the Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway south-west of town from from 8:45am onwards today. This fun golf day is open to men and women and includes novelty events, raffles, a cent auction and prizes for winners, runners-up and close approaches. Nomination fees are $20 (which includes morning tea and lunch) and the names sheet is at the clubhouse (names in by 8:45am for a 9:00am tee-off). More details? RUOK Day Community Breakfasts - Kingaroy and Nanango
Today is RUOK Day - a day to raise awareness about suicide prevention - and to mark it, two free community breakfasts will be held - one in Kingaroy, the other in Nanango. In Kingaroy, brekkie will be held outside Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington's office in Alford Street, Kingaroy (opposite Shoppingworld) between 7:00am and 9:00am this morning. The breakfast is being jointly sponsored by Centacare South Burnett, Stanwell Corporation, the South Burnett Regional Council, QMRE and the South Burnett Suicide Prevention Working Group. CROW-FM 90.7 will be broadcasting on the footpath and there'll be a range of guest speakers on hand too. In Nanango, a free BBQ brekkie will be running from 7:00am to 9:00am in the car park of the IGA Supermarket in Fitzroy Street. Everyone is welcome!
MBDA Meeting - Murgon
The Murgon Business & Development Association (MBDA) will be holding their latest monthly meeting at 118 Lamb Street in Murgon at 5:30pm this evening. The MBDA represent the interests of the Murgon community and meetings focus on new initiatives by the group's members which help improve the town and its immediate districts, as well as local issues that need attention - either at a purely local level, or via Council or the State Government. Junior Soccer Semi-Finals
The semi-finals of the Cadets competition will be played at Tom Alford Oval in Kingaroy tonight. The Barambah Painting Contractor Bears will face the Kingaroy Joinery Redbacks at 6:00pm (winner to Grand Final); and the South Burnett Car Sales and Window Tinting Redbacks will play the Flemings Garage Panthers at 7:30pm (winner to Grand Final).
2015 Heritage Nanango Country Muster
The 2015 Heritage Nanango Country Muster will be held at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street, Nanango from the 10th to the 13th of September this year - and today the Muster will get underway in a low-key way as attendees file into Nanango from all over south-east Queensland to set up camp and prepare for a long weekend of bush balladeering fun. The 2015 Muster will kick off with a BBQ and a Campers Walk Up Concert which will start at 10:00am and continue until around 1:00pm this afternoon. A bar will be operating at the Showgrounds from 10:00am to 12:00 midnight as well. You can get in to attend today's BBQ and concert for free, but tomorrow the fee will be $20; an all-day Saturday pass will be $30 (or $15 if you want to attend from 3:00pm onwards); or you can buy a 4-day pass to the entire event for $45 (young people aged 14 to 17 can get tickets for half price, and under-14s accompanied by an adult can get in for free). Camping will also be available at the Showgrounds and fees range between $7 and $9 per night for unpowered or powered sites - but a booking for any camp site is essential because the Muster usually packs the Showgrounds to capacity. How To Use Technology - Kingaroy
Would you like to learn how to use computers, the Internet and hand-held devices like tablets or mobile phones? These everyday devices are now used by most people, but there are still many who either don't use them to the full, or may know how to use some of them but not all of them. The Kingaroy Library in Glendon Street are running free lessons every Thursday from 10:00am to 12:00 noon to explain how to use these new technologies. 2014's X Factor runner-up Dean Ray will be performing in an all-ages concert at the Commercial Hotel at the corner of Haly and Glendon Streets in Kingaroy from 6:00pm to 10:00pm tonight, along with popular local duo Too Ezy. Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution.
